Historical Note: Annie Vellna Scott was a member of the class of 1914 at the University at Greensboro. She received a Doctor of Science degree while attending the University at Greensboro and also received a medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. She served as a Presbyterian medical missionary to China for 34 years, during which she wrote a book in Chinese on the care and feeding of infants. She was on the medical faculty of the University of Chapel Hill for ten years, working primarily in the detection and prevention of tuberculosis in children.
